What you may be going through is not there to destroy you. You may be crushed and pressed by life, but it is not to destroy you. Sometimes when we are in the middle of a difficult season, we can easily think that everything happening around us is working against us. We may ask God why we are going through so much pressure and why things have become so difficult. But sometimes, there is a purpose in the pressure, even when we cannot see it yet.
Here Is What Is Happening
Remember the story of Naomi and Ruth. The big breakthrough in Ruth’s life that came through Boaz because of God’s divine plan happened at the threshing floor. It is interesting that everything took place at the threshing floor because it is a place where the wheat is separated from the chaff. The wheat is beaten and pressed, but the pressure on the wheat does not destroy the wheat. Instead, it brings it out so that it can be gathered and used, while the chaff is thrown out.
In the same way, you may be beaten and pressed by life, but it is not to destroy you. There may be things that God is separating you from, things that cannot go with you into the next season of your life. The pressure may be revealing what is truly in you and removing what does not belong.
The Pressure Has a Purpose
You may not understand everything you are going through right now, but do not assume that the pressure means God has forgotten you. Sometimes the very place where you feel the most pressure can become the place where God brings you into something new.
The wheat is not beaten because it is worthless. It is beaten because something valuable is inside of it.
In the same way, you are not being pressed because you are being destroyed. You are being prepared, separated, and brought out so that you can be chosen, strengthened, and used by God. What you are going through may be difficult, but it does not have to be the end of your story. Keep trusting God through the process. If you can trust and obey Him, he will work a miracle for you behind the scenes. There is still more that God wants to bring out of you.
